To keep the backrest in place, a set of brakes was used, screwed into the short, angled, threaded posts. This fits for sure the 1983 Honda CB1000 custom, but it may also work for the Honda Cb900 custom and other Honda CBS of this era via USPS large flat rate box. Extremely sturdy. Selling a very nice Honda line luggage rack, which is no longer available.
